Datalake also provided the data for "Nonprofits Filing Forms 990 and 990-EZ" and revenues, expenses, assets, and contributions from latest available 990/990-EZ data for 501(c)(3) nonprofits, circa fiscal year 2016 as of June, 2018.

Source of employment numbers and percentages is U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released in 2019, based on the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), representing annual average 2017 employment for approximately 300,000 501(c)(3) organizations (the vast majority of employment). This is the only data on this page that includes 501(c)(3) foundations, which comprise less than 1% of employment.
